Nailed It!

Now that Fashion Week is over, we can reflect on the trends that it's brought us. And today's article focuses on one of my favorite categories- nails. During Fashion Week, manicurists and artists flock in and get prepped to do the nails of the models included in the shows. To give you a good idea of some styles that will be hitting your salons, I've pulled together a variety of mani inspo straight from the source. Read on to see what your nails will be rocking this upcoming Fall. Starry Night:

Clean looking nails adorned with big gold stars, was the look of British fashion designer Jenny Packham.  Led by Michelle Saunders, for Essie polish, the shades used were "Good as Gold" and "Mademoiselle" (my personal favorite). Each manicure was done to match the equally glitzy outfits from the collection.

This brand, headed by dynamic sister duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy, is known for its mix of high couture, modern feminine feel, and California influences. This season the manicurists went with a gothic vibe, using black and vermillion, almost mimicking the look of a Louboutin heel. OPI manicurist, Alicia Torello, used the shades "Raisin' The Bar" and "We're in the Black".

3.1 Phillip Lim:

American fashion designer Phillip Lim, the creative director of 3.1 Phillip Lim, went with a neutral tones mani. With a mix of  metallic and  deep nude hues, along with an intriguing "negative space" design, the manicures perfectly adorned the clothing without taking away from it. The colors used were from Sally Hansen in "Commander in Chic" and "Gilty Party".

Opening Ceremony:

Known for it's innovative and creative style, the nails at the Opening Ceremony show were true to the brand itself. With a color scheme similar to Phillip Lim, the China Glaze team chose a cool silver, metallic in a shade called "Icicle" and a light nude by the name of "Sorry I'm Latte".    Jeremy Scott:

To top off the collection, Scott's team painted models' nails with a technicolor of polishes. From bright orange to canary yellow each manicure was candy coated and went perfectly with the collection. The Instagram nail artist @MissPopNails, for OPI, was in charge of the polish selection and included a small white detail making the nails look as if they were in a cartoon.  What's your signature nail polish shade?
