New York Fashion Week kicked off the season earlier this month, but its trends will be carried out into Spring & Summer 2017. Since then it's been raining runway inspiration. From frocks to frills, there's endless possibilities of the upcoming styles coming soon to your shopping cart, but today we're focusing on the trends that'll be affecting your face- makeup.    Artists from M.A.C. Cosmetics & Maybelline were on the frontline, capturing the looks that will be hitting your vanities.

At the shows of Cushnie Et Tochs & Mary Katrantzou bold lips took the stage. The top color utilized was inspired from Pantone Color Institute's SS17 Color report named Pink Yarrow. This hot fuchsia is a bright spin on your typical pink lip. Artist Sammy Mourabit from MAC Cosmetics opted for a two toned look, applying a vibrant red to the top lip and Pink Yarrow to the bottom. While Estée Lauder ambassador Lynsey Alexander went for a "cosmic sweetheart" vibe- and the results were truly out of this world.

To do your own spin on this look try a matte liquid lipstick. Liquid lipstick is known for its bright and effortless coverage, giving you more for your money in each swipe. If you're a makeup afficianado mix it up by prepping your lips with a clear ointment and adding a colored pigment to spice it up.

Fake it til you make it, is the motto for the glowy skin seen on the scene. Artists recreated the summer look by using minimal makeup and emphasizing the "sunny spots" of one's face. Step up your skin prepping game by adding an essential oil into your routine. After that Tom Pecheux at the Brandon Maxwell show applied gold eyeshadow to the models to top it all  off.

An unconventional approach to this is Face gloss. Similar to lip gloss, but less tacky, it adds the same kind of glossy effect which makes your skin appear soft, supple, & hydrated. To recreate the look from the Brandon Maxwell show pick up a shimmering pigment and brush it along your cheekbones, browbones, and Cupid's bow. Achieve this goddess like glow with the OG of the beauty world- Vaseline. Similar to face gloss you can put it on your cheekbones for shine or on your lips to condition them. This creates a youthful glow and is ideal for those who don't like to fuss with lots of cosmetics.

Models kept it cool in kohl at the shows of Prabal Gurung, Zac Posen, and many other designers. Diana Kendal did the makeup for both shoes but showed just how even the simplest of changes in your work can affect your look. At Prabal Gurung she lined the model's full eyes in a dark onyx shade- ideal for late night dinners and evening soirées- but at Zac Posen she picked a chocolatey shade- it's casual color warm and great for daytime adventures or a coffee break at a cafe.

This raises some things to consider when looking for the right eyeliner. Daytime or evening? Thick or thin lines? Felt or pencil? Whatever your personal preference always remember that you can never go wrong with a classic dark brown pencil. It flatters any skin tone & is versatile from sun up to sun down.
